SoHo Residences Ottawa Little Italy

Originally we went to see SOHO Italia and were met with a very rude lady who didn’t even want to show us the units. She was very dismissive and unwelcoming and discouraged us from signing with any SOHO properties. We then decided to go down the street to the other SOHO building to give them one more chance. We had a beautiful experience dealing with Brandon from SOHO CHAMPAGNE 2. We came to see the unit over 5 times before finalizing everything and he was very patient and diligent throughout this period. He was very responsive and friendly and helped us throughout the entire process up to the move in. People like Brandon are the core of any quality building management and we are glad to see SOHO invest in talented and people oriented individuals such as him. Thank you Brandon for everything!

Lived here for 3 and a half years as an owner and have just rented my unit out. I see most reviews are about the hotel side and not the condos, so hoping this will be beneficial to prospective buyers/long-term renters. - First, the location is unbeatable. The neighbourhood is vibrant and safe, and the new train is right behind the building that goes to downtown & the south end of the city. - The building is very clean & well maintained. The new exterior landscaping is nice, and the lobby is beautiful. Amenities are excellent (new pool is a huge plus), elevators are fast, garbage chutes are always functional. Residents that I've interacted with are friendly, courteous and social. The demographic is very diverse and a good mix of all ages. - There's a lot of nice touches such as the heated driveway, air fresheners in hallways, concierge service. - Condo units generally well constructed. There are some weak points (kitchen main seal, a/c occasionally will go out) but overall the construction is solid and respectable. VERY quiet, I never heard anything from my neighbours. Units on the east & west sides have big balconies. The AEG appliances are nice and high-end but $$$ if something breaks. - Parking garage is a bit tight. - We switched to C.M.G from Apollo Management last year, and it's been a positive improvement in terms of communication. Minus one star for the incompetent construction company, Vuze, that works on this building & 115 Champagne. They completely botched the driveway project last year (took ~10 months when it was supposed to take no more than 6 weeks) and the workers are not very courteous to residents when they're onsite. Thankfully the construction & landscaping seems to be all done, so hopefully we don't have to interact with them anymore. Have your lawyer review the status cert and make sure you understand everything about the condo structure before you buy. Overall, really enjoyed living here and would 100% move back if I find myself in Ottawa later on.

I probably would have given this place a stellar or higher rating if there weren't issues with the internet. The hotel is beautiful. it's located well, very close to the Rideau canal and within the Little Italy neighborhood. It was actually quite inspiring to stay on a very high floor and look into the Vista of downtown Ottawa. The room is mostly clean (unless you happen to drop something under the bed or the couch and then you see some grossness you wish you hadn't). It is accessible with a fully equipped kitchen. The room itself is wonderful, the building is perfect, equipped with Gym and state of the art parking garage. Parking is comfortable. I would only say, that if you were staying here for work that the fact that there isn't somebody to help you at all times of the day can be a challenge, for the internet failing reghlarly. Because there are times that the concierge isn't present, I missed a few morning meeting. If you're coming here for work beware that the internet can be an issue at certain times and the fact that there isn't someone at the desk at all times to help you can also impose a challenge on fixing problems in the off hours. This was an issue for me personally also because I arrived after hours and the initial coming into the building, although explained quite well, was not simple. Having said that, during acceptable office hours both staff members that I interacted with were extremely courteous and immediately helpful and flexible. I want to especially highlight Stefania who answered the phone this morning and was able to answer to all of my needs professionally, quickly and efficiently

Great place to stay. Located in little Italy area of Ottawa. Room was large with two bedrooms. Very modern. Includes washer and dryer. Full kitchen. Walking distance to Dows lake.

Perfect connection to public transportation, reasonable priceed parking in private parking garage, and super friendly and helpful stuff.

I am a resident of the building more than a year. I would like to mention my good experience with this building and the management team. It is a good place to have a calm and peaceful life.

Nice location and clean building. Communication is difficult with unhelpful hours for weekend bookings. Should definitely have better communication options. Underground parking is a major bonus along with the kitchen and living room separate from the bedroom. Awesome set up

We had a main floor condo ~ the condo was lovely, lots of light, big windows, very modern, with a washer/dryer, stove, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. The bed was super comfy and the shower was perfect. We didn't hear much noise at all from our neighbours. I was disappointed to smell cigarette smoke every time we entered the condo (maybe from the person before us) and the cleanliness was sub par ~ 2 twigs on the living room rug, a hair tie and fabric softener sheet on the bedroom floor, little bits of dirt and hair in the corners, and a few spiderwebs on the ceiling. The condo building is very spacious, modern and bright. The underground parking was easy to access, well lit, and there were always spaces available and for $12 a day to park it was nice to not have to hunt for a spot on the street.
